The EZ Cooldown Cool Collar is an affordable and effective cooling aid designed for all situations. It features a bio-based phase change material (PCM) pack that retains cold and provides hours of comfortable cooling. The PCM insert can deliver cooling relief for up to 2 hours, depending on your activity.
To activate your Cool Collar, simply place it in a freezer or fridge for 30-60 minutes. Once activated, the collar cools your neck at a comfortable temperature of either 15°C (59°F) or 21°C (70°F). A stretchable and adjustable Velcro closure ensures a comfortable fit.
Wrapped around the neck, the PCM collar effectively cools the arteries and veins that lie close to the skin's surface. The high concentration of blood vessels in the neck allows for efficient heat transfer, enhancing the cooling effect. This makes the neck an ideal location for cooling, as it helps to quickly reduce body temperature and prevent heat stress.
The EZ Cooldown Cool Collar can be re-used and re-activated endlessly. By purchasing a second Cool Collar or an extra PCM pack for it, you can rotate between them and stay cool all day, wearing one while the other is being activated in the fridge or freezer.
You can store activated Cool Collars and PCM packs in a small cooler or insulated bag. They’ll remain cold and ready to use for up to 12 hours.

If you've ever had the displeasure, you'll know that's high praise.
I take medication that makes me susceptible to sudden overheating when I do anything halfway strenuous. I figured the collar would be an easy option to test out at home, and if that went well, then maybe I'd spring for a vest I can use at work.
Well, I will probably wind up doing just that as summer returns. The collar is remarkable. 70 F goes a lot further than you would think in terms of cooling. I think of it as basically a detachable heat sink for my body- it doesn't usually *feel* cool, it simply keeps me at a normal temperature, which is precisely what I wanted from it. Don't be fooled by how the cells feel basically room-temperature to your fingers. They'll do the job, much better than you would ever guess. I think 70 was absolutely the right call for me.
The collar itself is a bit bulky, but what can you expect? (Also, I'm sure larger people than me, which is most of them, would find it less so.) I find the mesh can sometimes be slightly scratchy in places, but usually I can fix that with slight adjustments. Just be advised, this one might be tough for folks with sensory issues.
All in all, it feels a bit magical. And, I mean- what else is there to say?
Next up for me is to get an insulating bag or something and test out how long it will keep inside that thing in my climate. If I can figure out a good convenient way to keep a vest handy while I'm at work without worrying too much about running out of cooling, I'll definitely get one.
